Description	Letter from John Hope to David Skene in which he thanks Skene for the specimens and list sent; he encloses a list of those which have not been found near Edinburgh; he makes arrangements for the election of Skene as a member of the philosophical society of Edinburgh - he will speak to all his friends and asks Skene to write to 'Mr Ross who stays with Lord Findlater to speak to Dr Cullen and Mr Russel' and Mr Whyte if he has any contact with him; their professorship has not yet been settled and he does not know how it will end, 1768.
