| Description | Letter from David Skene to John Hope concerning an offer made by Hope in a recent letter (see MS 38/128); he asks what encouragement may be expected and what the future prospect may be; he tells Hope that his current business is easily worth £250 per annum and is increasing; of late he has given up anything in the chirurgical way and is concentrating on medicine and midwifery; he congratulates Hope on the increase in his practice which enables him to think of dropping part of his work, 23 December 1767. |
