DescriptionLetter to James Gordon of Letterfourie, London, from his nephew James Duff, Madeira, thanking him for helping Duff’s brother Will when he was in London and fitting him out, his late arrival in Madeira, the delay is good as James can help him improve his writing and education, he had too few shirts for the voyage, their brother Patrick will accommodate him in India, asking for a passage for Will to India, preferably in exchange for wine, Will’s bad treatment on the way out to Madeira by Captain Lee, even though Lee had treated their brother Robert well, with copy letter regarding shipping malmsey, 12 - 13 July 1774
