Administrative History | Matthew J. Stewart was Professor of Pathology in the University of Leeds. He developed an interest in asbestosis during the late 1920s and in 1929 led the Medical Research Council-funded research into asbestosis at Leeds University. His research was not continued beyond the term of the grant owing to opposition from industry and general reticence on the part of the Home Office Factory Department.
A.L Taylor was based at the Pathological Laboratory, Bristol General Hospital, but may previously have also worked for the Department of Pathology and Bacteriology in the University of Leeds. |
