Thomas Crichton, minister of Logie and Gauldry, who had been turned down by the medical board when he wanted to serve at the Livingstonia Mission; his promise to go; account of his boyhood and education, his decision to enlist in the Royal Field Artillery and survival of the war, his training as a missionary, his meeting with Miss Minnie McFarlane, who became his wife, preparation for his journey, his journey on S.S. 'Goorkha' with Dr. Robert Laws, the use of his wartime experiences in the mission field.
