Many of the inscriptions are published in MAMA. For example, envelope 21 contains MIV.338; 9 contains MIV.313, MIV.354; 23 contains MIV.359. However some do not appear to have been published, or at least not in MAMA.
The box also contains: Photographic wallet with negatives of inscribed stones, but also of architectural carvings without inscriptions and private photographs (portraits); also print of carved stone Letters to Calder: three short letters from William Buckler, undated but post 1930, discussing publication questions; and letter from Keith Guthrie 14 March 1931 notifying Calder that Guthrrie is sending separately his notebook, photographs (references listed) and transcriptions (references listed) Envelope marked (and containing) "Guthrie's receipts for Squeezes & Photos" Envelope addressed to Calder, containing letter from Buckler 3 June 1929 enclosing "8 photos of monumenta, and 9 of topography". However only 4 photographs, of carved stones, are currently in the envelope. |
