Description | Letter from R. Matheson, Loch ? ... , by Garve, to Reverend R. G. Burn, Ipswich. As Burn has not arrived and the 19th has now passed he is wondering what has happened. He had sent a letter to his old address and hopes that Sir Montague did not say anything to prevent him coming: the fact that he would not allow him to walk in the hills was due to it being the middle of the bird shooting season. He had been looking forward to him coming and had been expecting him to arrive at any time after the 12th. The weather has not been ideal for walking in the hills but he hopes that he enjoyed his holiday if he has taken it. He will return the magazines he borrowed soon. Mentions book by Reverend James Macdougall, 'Folk Tales and Fairy Lore', commenting on the excellent Gaelic, and 'Scottish Reminiscences' by Sir Archibald Gickie. |
