Administrative History | Mary Esslemont was a dedicated Soroptimist and in 1961 became president of the Federation of Soroptimist Clubs of Great Britain and Ireland. In this capacity, she visited Africa to found the first Soroptimist clubs in that continent. Other overseas trips were engaged, similarly, with Soroptimist's work. Her house was bequeathed to the association, which is now managed as rented, flatted accommodation for women. |
