- Marine observations from Newfoundland, O.W.S. Weather Explorer, R.M.S "Nova Scotia", Arabia, Franconia and Ascania amongst others, covering from January to December. - Land observations are mainly from England and Scotland, with some from Northern Ireland, Wales and Eire. Occasional observations made from Iceland. - Meteorological office observations are from Scotland and surrounding islands (Benbecula, Orkney, Skye), Eire and Northern Ireland (chiefly Mullingar, Midleton, Valencia and Clones), and Acklington. - Air observations are made on routes to and from London, Glasgow, Eire, Northern Ireland, Iceland, America and Canada.
