- Marine observations of tbe Aurora Borealis from the Atlantic Ocean. - Land and meteorological station observations made from places in the West and East, including the United Kingdom, Eire, France, Denmark (Charlottenlund), Poland, Belgium, Sweden, the Faroe Islands and the Netherlands. Observations of the Aurora Australis from the South, mainly in the July folder. Many observations from Greenland. - Air observations on routes to and from London, Glasgow, Eire, Northern Ireland, America and Canada.
January data includes charts drawn by Ron Livesey (who later became director of the British Astronomical Association Aurora Section) concerning two Auroral Storms in January and March 1959 viewed from Newton Mearns in Glasgow. July folder includes several observations of an aurorae on 15-16 July. October data includes auroral reports from NORD - Greenland covering October to December. |
