- Marine observations from O.W.S. Weather Explorer and Recorder, Newfoundland, 'Melbourne Star' (South Indian Ocean), 'Port Pirie' and S.S. 'Hyrcania' (both Bass Strait), and S.S. Bassano (North Atlantic Ocean), amongst others. - Land observations are mainly from England and Scotland, with some from Northern Ireland, Wales and Eire.
