1. Papers relative to the preservation of the Honours of Scotland in Dunottar Castle (1651-1652) extracted in booklet form from Vol. 26 of Publications of the Scottish History Society 1896 (2 copies)
2. Two printed copies of letter of 1652 from George Ogilvie of Barras to Lord Callender, declining to surrender the regalia of Scotland, the in Dunottar Castle, to the Committee of Estates. Notes in pencil on both copies: (a) "Original at Edinburgh"; (b) "The original has been presented to Edinburgh. This copy given me Nov. 21/[19]24 by S.T. Lambert, Department of Manuscripts, British Museum, who was deciphering and restoring the original"
3. Paper folder containing letter of 24 May 1895 from Charles R.A. Howden, son of the sequestration trustee of the firm of J.A. Blaikie, to Messrs Edmonds & Ledingham, Aberdeen, setting out in detail the history of the custody letters relating to the preservation of the Honours of Scotland, with associated papers on their custody and publication. |
