Mary (Mally Beattie) (1744 - 1807), Beattie's wife. Beattie met her when he boarded with her father on first coming to Aberdeen in 1758. They married in 1767.
Description
Letter from Mary Beattie, Aberdeen, to Lady Mayne, talking about Lady Mayne's last letter and the arrival of Miss Graham's parents at Lady Mayne's house. Mentions the Beatties' arrival in Aberdeen and describes their accident, which happened while the Beatties were travelling by carriage. Letter talks about Mrs Beattie's stomach and Mr Beattie suffering from Billions complaints. Mentions that Mrs Beattie was unable to write to Lady Mayne sooner as she had been busy at home. Mrs Beattie writes that James [her son] has written to Miss Graham.
