| Administrative History | Mary (Mally Beattie) (1744 - 1807), Beattie's wife. Beattie met her when he boarded with her father on first coming to Aberdeen in 1758. They married in 1767.
It seems likely that the Mr Peckard mentioned in this letter is Peter Peckard (bap. 1717, d. 1797), who became dean of Peterborough in 1792. He was army chaplain between 1755 - 1766 and 1766 - 1782, although he had leave of absence much of the time. |
