Administrative History | Charles Boyd [1728-1782]. He was the son of the Earl of Kilmarnock, and the younger brother of the Earl of Errol. He joined Prince Charles's army at the age of 17 and fought in the battle of Culloden. Further to this he escaped to the continent and returned to Scotland only in 1766 to live in a farm at Ludquharn. He then became close friend to Beattie until Boyd's death in 1782 |
