Administrative History | Alexander Wallace Chalmers (1800-1862), Governor at Aberdeen Prison, and his wife, Mary Jameson (1795-1878), had seven children: Christian (Chrissie), later Mrs James Smith (1826-1876), was the mother of Reverend James Smith, who transcribed the papers of John Chalmers (1836-1861), the youngest son of Alexander and Mary Chalmers. Their other children were Elizabeth, later Mrs James Cardno of Fraserburgh (1828-1903), Richard (1829-1852), Alexander (1831-1868), Samuel (1833-1858), and William (1834 -1863). |
