DescriptionLetter from John Adams to his son, Dr. Francis Adams, who is in India as a regimental medical officer during the Mutiny, undated (1857 - 1858). He states that he is glad that his son has escaped the dangers and is removed from the mutiny in Hindustan; he now hopes it is over but has great apprehensions for the future; he had been with his good friends Sir James and Lady Clarke who had enquired after him; he discusses his advancement in the army.
