DescriptionLetters of assignation granted at Fraserburgh by Alex. Wilson, one of the Fraserburgh bailies, for himself & as tutor and curator to his daughters, Jean and Sophia Wilson in favour of Charles, Earl of Mar, respecting 4 bonds to now deceased george Wilson, bailie of Fraserburgh granted by Elizabeth Creichton, relict of Andrew Lord Fraser, and their son Thomas Fraser of Cairnbulg, dated 1) 26 June 1672 (for 1200 merks) (2) 3 Jan. 1673 (for 800 merks), (3) 16 July 1673 (for£256), (4) 16 July 1673 for 32 bolls victual received & payment of £160. All registered at Aberdeen on30 June 1676. Assigned by George Wilson on 18 Dec. 1675 to Jean and Sophia Wilson with their father Alex. Wilson as curator etc., reserving liferent rights in @rents thereof. Thomas F. and his mother also assigned to George Wilson on 20 Jan. 1673 a letter of tack between them & Wm. Park in Broomhill of that date respecting town & lands thereof for which yearly tack duty of 31 bolls bear, 18 hens, 18 capons,11/2 wedders,11/2 stone butter, 1 leit peats, 1/2 boll oats, 10 threaves staw[?], and services in harvest, carriages,feal & culling ofdivot & Thos. F. & mother granted bond of corroberation on 25 Aug.1676 to Jean & her father for?£1050Sc. & to Sophia & father for £693:6:8 with infeftment for their security of Alex. Wilson in Broomhill as in above letters of tack with permissionto uplift maills and duties while principal unpaid, various tacks to be renewed in daughters' names as they expire.
A fifth bond for £287:13 Sc. was granted by Thos. F. & his mopther to Alex. Wilson on 6 June 1677. In return for sum unspecified. Charles E. of Mar was assigned (rights) in bond of corroboration and bond of 6 June 1677 & right to uplift Broomhill rents in payment of @ rents thereon Procuratory of registration. Duly signed & witnessed. Left hand margin with beginning of each line of text torn or eaten away.
