DescriptionExtract of decreet of adjudication following on summons of adjudication raised at the instance ofMarie Elphinstoune , relict of deceased --------- Forbes of Boindly and executor dative to deceased John Forbes in Boig, eldest son of the deceased John Forbes of Largie in lands etc. of Charles, now Lord Fraser [as in similar decreets of this period concerning him - Muchalls, Cairnbulg etc], for payment of bond for £1550:10;8 Sc. plus 500 merks expenses and interest (since 1672) to Whit. 1676 amounting to £372:4:-Sc., making grand total of £2255:17:4 [sic]. Decreet follows an action raised before sheriff of Aberdeen by her on 8 Feb. 1676, charging him to enter heir to his father, the deceased Andrew Lord Fraser. The date 18 May 1676 appears & there is also some mention of Earl of Mar & date 1668.
Difficult to be certain of exact terms as only left hand two thirds of ms. has been preserved and the greater part of the information above has been obtained from allowance respecting granting of infeftment in lands ec. and of sasine by Lords of Council and Session at Edinburgh on 9 Aug. 1676 in favour of Marie or Maria Elphinstoun etc. which is written on the back of the decreet & signed by a Ja. Foulis & ?J. Lockhart and recorded by ?W. Bruce. Originally 4 sheets. Old refs , 73 and (25).
