| Description | Extract by Archibald Primrose, clerk register, of proceedings at Edinburgh on that date in the action of reduction and improbation at the instance of Alexander fraer, elder, of Phillorth who had been lawfully infeft in lands etc. of Cairnbulg and decreet thereanent [joins of sheets not signed] granting certification contra non producta.
Some comprisings involved might have been granted and burned when English attacked Edinburgh after the battle of "Pinkie field". Immensely long MS. listing writs produced etc. By the action taken Andrew "Lord Muchall" as now heritable proprietor of lands mentioned and heir to deceased Andrew Fraser of Staneywod is desired to denude himself of litte [?] to these in favour of the pursuer on payment of sums named. Far too lengthy to attempt to summarise. Faded endorsement describes this writ as decreet of reduction &improbation Phillorth contra Lord Fraser 1657. See 295. |
