| Description | Bond signed at Muchall by Andrew, Lord Fraser, following on contract of marriage between him and James, Viscount of Fendraught, Lord Crichtounne, with the consent of his father, James Crichtoun of Kynnardie on behalf of Elizabeth Crichtoun, now Fraser's wife, James Crichtoun's eldest daughter on 21 Aug. 1644, promising to infeft her in liferent of lands & barony of Staniewod, seeing that Fraser had already infeft his son Andrew by his former wife, the late Anna [...rie] ? should be Agnes.] Hadden in certain lands in said barony under reversion to father during his lifetime & to his heirs male on decease if redeemed for 20,ooo merks he now wishes to promise to infeft her in an equivalent in liferent in the Mains of Durris with manor place, fortilace etc. & Kinclunes, Balfour, Densyd, Brackmonthe, Casstletoun of Durris & Castlehill thereof, Strachan, Meikle & Little Tulloch, Calladrum, with smiddyte etc. etc. in barony of Durris in special warrandice & security for her liferent lands of barony of Staniewood This is to expire when or if Staniewood is redeemed & available to her in liferent. Lands held from Fraser of crown, his immediate superior includes procuratoty of registration.
