| Description | Duplicate of contract (duly signed and witnessed) drawn up at Edinburgh and Muckell between Andrew, Lord Fraser, for himself & on behalf of Alexander fraser, his natural brother, natural son of the late Andrew, Lord Fraser, his father & Alex. Fraser,himself, and Master Archibald Halden and his daughter Elizabeth Halden. Alex. Fraser & Elizabeth Halden are to marry before 30 Oct. or as soon as parties are ready. Andrew, Lord Fraser promises to pay them or their survivor & their children 3500 merks before Whitsunday next, 1640 with interest at 8% ubtil paid. This to be in satisfaction of any promisium made for Alex. by his father, discharges to be granted accordingly including one herin.
In return, Haldan promises as tocher for his daughter , Elixabeth,£1000 Sc. with interest at 8% until paid, making 5000 merks in all. & infeftment in @ rent of same furth of suitable lands to be granted, which is to go to wife during her lifetime for maintenance of children if she survive husband. Contains procuratoy of registration.
