| Administrative History | The union was formed in 1941 upon amalgamation of the National Union of Clerks (est. 1890) and the Association of Women Clerks and Secretaries. It adopted a new name - the Association of Professional, Executive, Clerical and Computer Staff - in 1972. The Aberdeen Branch of the union was formed in May 1943.
