James Elliot, Stewartfield, to John Marshall, 11 Nelson Street, Edinburgh, accepting legal opinions that some settlement be decided as it stands without a hearing - his reasons for the propriety of one were 'more to save any after reflection in my own mind or from my children than from any impression that it would avail much'. 2 February 1824. 4. James Elliot, Stewartfield, to Robert Ogilvie, W.S., 9 Cumberland Street, Edinburgh. Reproof for broken promise and apparently enclosing an authority signed by writer and Ogilvie's uncle. 10 May 1825. |
