He did not know that Francis, [10th Lord Sempill, who was buried 4 August 1816 according to Burke's 'Peerage'] 'son of Anne Baroness Semple ... was the first of his family to be buried in Holyrood, but the late Baroness whom my father William 17th Baron succeeded was the last person to be buried in Holyrood viz. 1884'. |
