Description | Printed epitaphs written by James Gregory for Patrick and William, 3rd and 4th sons of Donald Macleod of Geanies. Patrick was a Lieutenant-Colonel of the 78th Regiment of Foot who served in the Low Countries, the Cape of Good Hope, in the East Indies and in Italy. He died in the battle of El Hamed in Egypt in 1807 aged 32.
William was a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy who died at Lisbon on the 29th of March 1805 aged 28. He is described as highly esteemed by the commanders and respected as a brave and meritorious officer. |
