Description
Printed inscription written by James Gregory for the tomb of James Beattie in which he is described as a man of piety and probity, a distinguished and elegant writer of poetry, a most agreeable philosopher and true Christian. Also contains an inscription for his son who was interred in the same tomb. James Hay Beattie died slowly of consumption aged 23, 1803
