Creator Name | Gregory, James (1753 - 1821), professor of the practice and theory of physic at the University of Edinburgh |
Description | Letter from James Gregory to Mrs W Gregory, Canterbury, regarding the death of his daughter; thanks her for her enquiries and condolences; agitation and grief on the death of his daughter and the dreadful distress of his wife (which he had thought might be fatal to her) meant he had not written to her; his wife is better but he doubts she will ever fully recover as her health and spirits seem broken; he believes her recovery was due to her worry over other family members who had had the same illness; sends his best wishes to her daughter and gives his nephew, William, great credit for his liberal, honourable and independent sentiments regarding money matters, 3 October 1813. |
