Salvator Rosa (1615 - 1673) was an Italian Baroque painter, poet and printmaker, active in Naples, Rome and Florence.
Description
Sketch book belonging to Georgina Gregory. The sketchbook contains pencil and pen and ink sketches. The sketches are of particular places she has visited including the Lake District, and St Peter's Church and the Vatican in Rome, and also copies of sketches done by other artists such as Salvator Rosa. These include a series of sketches of regional costumes of Italy, sketches of an elephant and a sketch of wagons carrying logs and being pulled by horses, 19th century.
