Administrative History | The Society was founded in 1821 with a constitution based on the London society of similar name. Its aim was to improve medicine and surgery and Transactions were produced from 1824. The Society is still in existence.
James Craufurd Gregory (1801 - 1832), physician, was a medical student in Edinburgh during this period and served for a time as Secretary to the Society. |
