| Description | Letter from W. Kennedy, Aberdeen to George Chalmers, Board of Trade, Ramsgate. Gives details of the local sources available for his proposed history of Aberdeen from 1165 and its scope; criticises W. Thom’s 'History of Aberdeen' (1811); he regrets that what he may have to say regarding the origins of new and old Aberdeen may conflict with views expressed by Chalmers in his 'Caledonia'. Proposes illustrating book with engravings of buildings and will consult Chalmers later on this. |
