This contains: the original covers for Patrick Dun's notebook (MS 119/1) which was formed of an earlier parchment document. The document is written in Latin in a secretary hand. It is not easy to read but is possibly a legal deed
two parchment fragments of a Latin manuscript, possibly medieval. The manuscript is written in red and brown ink and is very heavily abbreviated. The subject matter is therefore hard to discern but may relate to physics
26 loose leaved sheets containing: * Sheets 1 - 2: "here beginnis ane styll buuk as ze ____ reid and are it [luik] and ze is writtine wt my hand Iillae after heir is followand...". There follow several repetitions of 'At Aberdene ye tent day of November Anno Dni thousand fyve hundreyt fore score" on one side and the letters of the alphabet on the other * sheet 3: this appears to be a letter in English, written in a sprawling secretary hand * sheet 4: A paragraph of Latin signed by Jacobus [Thane] * sheets 5 - 8: Verse in Latin from the Fourth Book of the Odes of Horace * sheets 9 - 10: two leaves written in Latin by Patrick Dun * sheets 11 - 13: verse in Latin from the Fourth Book of the Odes of Horace * sheets 14 - 17: handwriting practice * sheet 18: a page of Latin, signed Patrick Gray * sheet 19: verse in Latin from the Fourth Book of the Odes of Horace * sheets 20 - 24: prose in Latin and secretary hand concerning Horace.
