| Description | Letters written by Francis Grant, Trelawny, Jamaica to Charles Gordon. Duplicate of MS 1160/6/52/2 prefixed to further report on Georgia estate. The weather had been bad but no hurricanes so far; canes will soon be cut but no estimate is possible of yield. Also discusses copy of decree obtained against estates of Johnston and Samuel Smith being sent and comments on events in Jamaica which will be supplemented by a parcel of ‘filthy newspapers’ on the first ‘private ship’. |
