Acknowledges letter of 8 October 1778 stating that deceased friend’s estates had been sold to John Grant of Spanish Town on behalf of Charles Gordon in Scotland, who had promised to repay debt to Miles after payment of legacies. Encloses [not preserved here] current account with estate of George Richards made up to 20 May 1779 to be settled with John Grant. He could make no more advances owing to ‘this unhappy War [which] is very distressing to the Islands’. |
