He is hurt that Gordon has misunderstood him, forgetting Voutier's resolution not to abandon the just cause of Greece. Tries to excuse the faults of the Greeks and claims that they have already improved considerably. Also discusses English interests in the light of Greek independence. [24 October 1823] |
