| Administrative History | Alexander Murray was from New Deer, Aberdeenshire. He graduated MA from King's College, Aberdeen, in 1746, and D.D. in 1784, by which time he was an Anglican missionary at Reading, Pennsylvania. He died in Philadelphia in 1793, and by his will established the Murray lectureships by which a series of winter Sunday lectures was set up in King's College Chapel to save students and staff attending their parish services in poor weather.
George Hutton was from Perth and graduated MA from King's College, Aberdeen, in 1753. He later settled in Deptford and was a benefactor to the college. |
