Description | Letter addressed to Sir James Reid, The Chestnuts, Ellon from King George V, Buckingham Palace dated 6 September 1914. 'I am glad to hear from your letter of 4th that my son continues to make such satisfactory progress and is in such good spirits. I am also pleased to know that you and Marnoch consider if all goes well that the operation might be performed on Wednesday morning. I have the greatest confidence and so has the Queen in you and Marnoch and I only trust that it will be successful and satisfactory in every way. Certainly, I of course approve of Sir Alexander Ogston being present at the operation as you propose, his opinion and advice will [be] very useful. Please send me a telegram as soon as it is over and telegraph twice a day for the first few days at least'. |
