Administrative HistoryThe Junior Members of the Society recorded presentations considered to be of a high standard in a series of volumes called 'Thesauri'. They are indicative of the medical teaching they received at the time, which itself was influenced greatly by the works of Cullen, the leading physician of his day.
DescriptionSeries of volumes containing copies of discourses by members of the Society. Volume 3 contains an essay on the treatment of dysentery with mercury by James McGrigor, sent by him from the Cape of Good Hope in March 1799 when surgeon to the 88th regiment.
