| Description | Medical Society Ordinary Account book, 22 July 1822-11 November 1862. The first page contains an abstract of the accounts of the Society as of the 22 July 1822. The various amounts credited to and debited from the Society's account are then recorded from September 1822-August 1829 before being listed under the headings of 'Charge' and 'Discharge', the former divided into 4 branches: I. Entry Money II. Annual Contributions III. Fines IV. Interest, and the latter also into 4 branches: I. Books II. Fire, Light and Stationery III. Wages and Insurance IV. Miscellaneous Disbursements (other branches are also added later such as donations made and expenditure on museum presses). There is a list of names written in pencil on the inside back cover. A typical entry is as follows [In the volume itself, each individual amount credited and debited to the account is recorded under each branch]:
