| Description | Is glad to learn that all were well at Fordoun and Aberdeen and had so far escaped cholera epidemic; £10,000 has been placed at governor's disposal to give effect to Montreal quarantine regulations; letters offering to place dividends from the unfortunate Glasgow concern with the writer are gratefully acknowledged, as are other promises of assistance; business is dull and money scarce from low prices and limited demand for principal exports of wheat and ashes; hopes General Assembly will do something about establishment of church in Canadian provinces and discusses present situation of church in Montreal. |
